A 14-year-old boy has been charged after an elderly woman was raped in her home by an attacker who asked if she would share her wartime stories with him. The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was held at around 10.30pm on Monday in connection with the sex attack on the pensioner in Hardwick, Banbury, Oxfordshire. The victim, who is in her 70s, opened the door at around 9am on Saturday to a teenager who asked her if they could talk about the war and the elderly. But once inside her home, the woman was pushed to the floor and raped. The victim activated her personal care alarm and the offender ran off. Thames Valley Police were alerted to the rape at 9.20am by the alarm company. A police spokesman said a boy of 14 has been remanded in custody and will appear at Banbury Magistrates' Court.
